In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Summus is hosting two Master Classes focused on breast cancer screenings and options.
Part 1 is open to the public and features Julia Smith, MD, PhD, Medical Oncologist and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, will lead a discussion to help you understand breast cancer risk associated with the BRCA gene mutation.
During this session, Dr. Smith will share:
- Information on the BRCA gene
- Who should pursue BRCA testing or other types of genetic testing
- How understanding genetics can prevent different cancers
Part 2 is for Summus members only and features Colleen Tenan, MD, Internal Medicine Physician at Westmed Medical Group, who will provide a more general overview of breast cancer education, including protocols for prevention, screening, and treatment.
