Description
Second opinions are widely misunderstood and under utilized in cancer
Facing a cancer diagnosis or a relapse can send a patient reeling.
As they sit waiting in their oncologist office, they know their doctor is their lifeline. They need doctors to face this terrifyingly complex and serious disease.
Studies have shown that second opinions in cancer do change treatment approaches in up to 69% of cases. And these can be very meaningful changes.
However, few cancer patients get a second opinion at all.
For many, they don’t know they could get a second opinion or why they would.
Patients fear delays in treatments, uncertainty, or worry they will offend their doctor and hurt this crucial relationship.
So, clearly something needs to change.
In this webinar we’ll discuss when, why, and how to get a second option in cancer.
We’ll discuss how we identify the ideal second opinions for a given cancer patient.
We hope you’ll be able to join us.
