Description

The Irish Cancer Society is delighted to host Professor Declan Devane's online presentation: 'Tips on Finding Reliable Health Information.'

A key priority for The Irish Cancer Society Strategy (2021 – 2025) is to increase the number of people surviving cancer and improve the quality of their survival. In order to achieve this, providing those affected by a cancer with the skills and knowledge to make informed decisions about all aspects of their health is essential.

Professor Declan Devane’s webinar will provide tips on how patients can ensure that they are sourcing reliable health information as well as how they can identify fake news and misinformation.

In 2021, Professor Devane was awarded the ‘Misinformation and Disinformation in Cancer’ Research Grant by The Irish Cancer Society for his study ‘Informed Health Choices-Cancer (IHC-Cancer)’, carried with Joint-Lead Investigator, Elaine Finucane, also of NUIG.

Following Professor Devane's presentation, there will be a short Q & A session.

As always, the Irish Cancer Society is here to support you. If you would like any further information please feel free to contact us at researchadmin@irishcancer.ie, supportline@irishcancer.ie or visit out website: cancer.ie.
