Tumor evolution and methodologies for reconstructing a tumor’s life history

Seven Bridges
10/25/22, 2:00 PM
America/Chicago UTC -5

Description

Cancer develops over time through a process of somatic evolution. Next-generation sequencing technologies now allow us to fully characterize the genomic alterations acquired by the cancer genome, and to use these to reconstruct a cancer’s evolutionary past. In turn, these evolutionary insights can inform novel preventative strategies, guide earlier detection of cancer, assist in monitoring tumor progression, as well as lead to novel therapeutic interventions.

What you'll learn:

  • An introduction to the concept of tumor evolution
  • How an understanding of evolutionary dynamics can be used to benefit patients
  • An overview of the methodologies for reconstructing a tumor’s life history
  • How the Seven Bridges Platform can be leveraged to best support these analyses
