Doulas and Respectful Care: Supporting Models that Support Families

Maternal Health
7/13/21, 4:00 PM
America/New York GMT -4 summer

Description

Evidence shows that doula support during pregnancy and birth improves the health of both mothers and babies, yet there are many barriers to accessing doula care. In this panel presentation, we will explore insights from doulas and lessons learned from local and state partnerships to effectively support community-based doula initiatives.

At the end of this session, learners will be able to:
- List at least 3 services commonly provided by doulas
-Describe the benefits of centering respectful care as part of the birthing experience
-Describe ways local and state departments can partner with doulas to support community-based doula services
